In my experience, it’s very difficult to rank well for any term related to really hot topics such as the ones you mentioned in your post. I prefer working on niche topics, where I can learn, enjoy, and make some extra money at the same time. Sports, I love watching them on TV, politics, I like getting informed through the media, no effort on my part :)

The World Cup predictions are a good idea but you could start early and predict the domestic leagues, or start with injuries affecting World Cup squads.

Football/soccer is massive, with the Asian market growing over the last few years and people are crazy to read others opinions and then tell them how wrong they are
