Niche Marketing Tips Once Again

I can't believe 2010 is here already. Time really flies. One of my New Year's resolutions is to get back to blogging and rebuild a new network of niche content websites. I was still maintaining my online business, but I was sort of away from niche marketing for the last 16 months or so.

Here is what happened. While I was researching a niche market back in 2008, almost accidentally, I found an interesting niche in local service industry. For some reason, I wanted to see if I can start a successful offline business as well. Maybe I wanted a challenge. I really don't know. Anyway, the next week, I incorporated a new company and purchased a liability insurance. Luckily, I found four clients the same month I incorporated.

For the next 12 months, I spent all my time hiring and managing employees, and I found myself spending enormous time in training since the business involves using some expensive machines. Not only that, after paying the payroll and the taxes, I wasn't really making much although the business was generating a low six-figure revenue.

I was tired and burnt in 2009. I just hate managing people. The business is still going on, but I scaled it down so that I don't have to get involved as much. Right now, I'm not looking to find a new clientele in this business. The only reason why the business wasn't shut down is because three employees depend their living on it.

So that's what I was doing while I was away from blogging and building new niche websites. It was an interesting experience, I have to say. It just reaffirmed my belief that the best way to make living is by making money online and building passive income-generating websites. That's why I'm back in the game.

I know 16 months is like 16 years in the internet age. I have lots to catch up. There are some plans with this blog and how it will run, but I will share that with you on the next post. Thanks for reading and I hope to network with like-minded entrepreneurs through this blog again.
