Making choices for your dream
Each day, most of people go to work hating what they do for living. I was one of them. But I never complained, because I didn’t want anyone to think that I made a wrong choice. I couldn’t stand when people say “you got a nice job, I wish I had a job like yours”. I was smiling, but deep inside me, I knew I was lying to myself. I worked at my job because I had to pay my bills. It had nothing to do with my interest.
My interest was in internet marketing, and network marketing. Every night, I spent at least 5 hours digesting and testing internet marketing materials. Although I wasn’t making a dime, I felt I was actually doing something toward my dreams. After getting involved in an MLM company and other online opportunities, I was able quit my day job and dedicated my resources to build my business. I made a choice to set aside 5 hours each day for building my dreams. I didn’t like to discuss anything about what I do online because the only thing I get back is “It’s not going to work, get a normal job. Why are you trying to have a difficult life?”
My parents always supported me. Even when we were going through a severe financial problems, my parents always took me to the bookstore and have me choose a book to read twice a month. But when I told them I’m building my online business, they were shocked. Because the internet was relatively new at the time, there was a no chance of convincing them to understand what I do. One day my father called me to the family room and said, “You know we’d support whatever you decide to do, but we are very concerned about your internet business model. You are not getting enough sleep and you have too many things going on in your life. That’s why you are losing hair at a such young age! After all, it’s not going to work.” He was the last person that I wanted to hear these words from. But he said that.
But once again, I made a choice to push forward and not give up. And that decision has made me stay home and work at my own schedule. After getting married last year, the online income has increased dramatically (thanks to niche marketing) and my wife was able to quit her high-payingfull mortgage job in just 3 months.
Because of the choices I made, I can have all three meals together with my wife everyday. Well, not for a month though, she’s in the other side of the Earth traveling. :)
My point is this. If you are serious about working online, or building an online empire, you simply need to make a choice to do so. Choose not to listen to broke people, sorround yourself with highly motivated people all the time. Don’t let an opportunity slip away. Listen to the people who’s actually doing better than you. And make a choice to do everything for your goals and dreams no matter what. Because success is a choice.

Bo, your post is just what I need!
Here I am feeling sad again, losing the drive to work on my short report. It’s actually ready, my next “challenge” is to write a salesletter for it.
Unfortunately I can’t afford a copywriter. So I’m forced to learn it myself.
Another setback is recently learning about what happened to stormpay. So my online payment options became fewer. :(
Right now I’m looking for a payment provider who will accept me because the “bigger” names like clickbank and paypal banned users from my country as well. I’m sure I’ll find one, just wish I can find one sooner.
Anyway, I wanna thank you for writing another inspiring post. And I got a much-needed chuckle after reading your Dad saying you’re losing hair at a young age, I can relate to that. :D
Take care there, Bo. Keep posting, and I’ll keep at it!

Nice words. It come from with in what you said. I have goals for myself. One of them is also to work from home full time using internet marketing.
Sometimes my real life jobs gets to me with bad hours and also working weekends. My wife is on my case why I site on the internet so long. Its all about trail and error in life. You have to crawl like baby and then run.
Best word is action.

I am currently going through the type of stage you have described in many areas right now and I completely agree it is much better to work at something you enjoy than to suffer through something your miserable doing. That initial start up period is killer though, and that fact that you had the determination to suffer through it is definitely a sign of your commitment.

Bo,
You are so absolutley correct. I once got a job just to pay the bills and it ended up being my career. I have been in the same field for over 15 years and even though it pay extremely well, I hate it. It keeps me away from my family on a regualr basis, it is stressful, and I have to do things that I personally do not lke.
I have been working on niche sites, internet marketing, and a direct sales business http://www.rayroman.worldventures.biz, for the last six months. I do it in the evenings after my regular job. I love this very much. My wife is very supportive, without her support I would not be so motivated.
I am 45 years old and yesterday I found out I have Type 2 diabetes ( nothing I can’t control). It was a little shocking at first, but I soon realized that I needed now more than ever to have control of my life. Niche sites, internet marketing, and my direct sales business will give me that control.
I say to all of you out there get started on your dream NOW. Don’t wait until you have to do it. Do it now when you know you want to do it.
Keep the faith, be patient, work smart, and everything will fall in place.
PS. Bo, thanks for taking a look at my niche site, I truly appreciate your comments.
Regards
Ray

I used to work as a web developer at a marketing company for 5 years. As the years passed, I became bored with my job and hated my hour+ commute. I just knew I wanted to have my own internet business so I made the difficult choice of quitting a full-time job and began freelancing while pursuing an online business. I tried my hand at selling products on ebay but the market I was in was over saturated and I lost my motivation along with some money. I’ve recently discovered internet marketing and I am hooked. Reading your post today inspired me to not give up on my dream of working online no matter how frustrated I become along the way or how many people discourage me. Thank you. :-)

Thanks for the inspirational words. Right now, I’m at the beginning of very similar process, and the parallels are funny to me. My dad initially balked at my quitting my job and starting to work full time for myself online. My friends are modestly supportive but don’t know what to say. But I’m excited when I’m working now, I don’t feel like I’m working towards someone else’s goals, and I’m not even making a $1 a day :) I’m totally gonna dig through here to learn more about how you’ve done it.
