Adsense Referrals

I noticed that not many you know about Google Adsense Referrals program. In your Adsense account area, go to “Adsense Setup” -> “Products” -> “Referrals”. Do you notice anything different from the last time you logged in? :)

I think Adsense Referrals is still in beta and not available to everyone. But if you are accepted, go check out the programs. With Adsense Referrals, you get paid when your visitors perform specific action instead of a click. It could be a purchase/sale, a lead, a signup or some other advertiser-defined action.

I’m testing out a single unit on my whey protein site. It looks very similar to regular adsense units. Go to the bottom of the page and you will notice an Adsense unit on the right side. It says “Referral ads by Google” on the top.

For your ad unit, you can choose up to 15 ads and have them rotate automatically. That’s very neat. It’s too early to share any results with the unit, but it looks very promising as Google acquires more advertisers into the program.

If you don’t have it activated, you can apply to be considered in the Adsense Referrals Beta.

UPDATE: Google Referrals is closing down the program during the last week of August 2008.

Thanks for the heads up on the Google Adsense Referral links. Just logged in to check them out. Will definitely be putting them to use.

It’s absolutely amazing i think. It’s adwords upside down :) No, really it’s a amazing system that works nicely and got a email from Google to test it on my personal (dutch) website.

I’ve tried it 1 week, and the results are good. Not amazing, but then SEO is a lot different. :)
