Affiliate Datafeed Site Demo
As I’ve promised, here is the demo site I made with Kathy’s Affiliate Datafeed script.
http://www.OrientalRugGuru.com
How does it look? It is in its very basic format right now to help you feel how the script works. Basically, the script retrieves raw data from Shareasale.com’s datafeed and automatically posts to your WordPress blog. Data retrieving process can be automatically done if you wish to with a bonus script that Kathy included for you.
Why I decided to test the script
Kathy is one of the best niche marketers I know who makes her living from her niche sites. She’s the pioneer in niche marketing who’s willing to give so much to her blog readers. That’s why I respect her. She usually creates scripts herself and never released the scripts to public, but we literally begged her to release her scripts when she mentioned about her script.
So whenever she shares something to us, I take it even before I finish reading the sales copy. Why? Because the exact script was used to build many of her lucrative niche sites. I have no doubts.
The Installation
I’ve purchased a new domain to test this script. I will tell you only the facts.
After purchasing, I downloaded a single zip file with 3 files in it; instructions, FTP bonus script, and Datafeed script. Before uploading the files, I had to edit the datafeed script with my ID and database information. It took me about 10 minutes. After uploading the file, it worked flawlessly. You have two options, you can make this script semi-automatic or fully-automatic using cronjob. Both ways are very easy. If you decide to go semi-automatic, you can do it easily by bookmarking a page(refreshing). But I recommend using cron to make it fully automatic.
For the demo site I chose rugman.com’s datafeed who pays 12% of the sale. Currently, they have 7784 products in their datafeed. Using the script, I can put create 7784 pages instantly, but I wouldn’t do that. I want my site to post about 10-12 posts everyday instead. After a few month, I’m going to raise the number of posts being posted each day. But for now, I will keep the number below 15 a day.
I have to admit that the script isn’t fancy at all. It’s in its raw form. There is no graphical interface for the users. This can be good for some people and bad for some. You will be required to use FTP to upload the file and be able to edit a file using notepad. And lastly, you must have a hosting account with cronjob enabled, which usually comes as default. Setting up a cron could be little challenging for non-tech savvy users. But I’m sure I can help or Kathy can help you setup the script.
Bo’s opinion
I like it very much. The installation process was very simple to me. Little more details about setting up the cronjob could have enhanced the product because I had to figure it out myself. There is instruction about it, but because I have different system from other hosting accounts, I had to do this my own. But if you have Cpanel, it’s not going to be a problem.
I’ve noticed that rugman.com’s feed has similar description for each product. But other merchants have unique description for each product. So if you are concerned about it, choose the merchant carefully.
The way my niche blog looks.. I’m very satisfied with the result. It looked great on both Firefox and IE. There are many page generators available, but Affiliate Datafeed script is superior in a fact that each post is actually a sales page for affiliate product. If someone clicks on the product link and purchases it, I get a percentage of the sales price. Until now, I’ve been creating the affiliate WP sites manually by copying and pasting product information. Well, this script enabled me to save so much time, actually make fully automated niche sites.
You need this script. This script has been one of the most time effective tools I’ve ever purchased. At this rate, I can create multiple sites everyday, which I will be doing over the next few weeks. There are many ways to implement this script. Kathy creates a heck of site with her script.
Because I liked the script so much, and I want you to have the script as soon as possible, I asked her personally for a discount for my list members. She said ok. She’s giving us $20 discount. But this offer is just for us, not for the public.
I don’t know when she will take it down, so grab a copy when it’s available. You can get it from the following link.
Sorry, this script is no longer being sold
Don’t forget to say thanks to Kathy for the discount :)

Jeff, what is it you use to import to WordPress? If you read this you can write me at scottl77@comcast.net or Bo, if you read this please send my email to Jeff. I could not find any way to contact him on his blog. Maybe that’s why he has no action on his site. No way to ask questions.

Bo, let me first say I love this site. I had it bookmarked, but wasn’t reading it. Now I am, and I subscribed. Great info here!
I’m using a different datafeed to import to my WordPress (anyone interested, ask me). Sounds very similar to Kathy’s but does work with ANY data source (even one you create) and it doesn’t pull the DF automatically. But that is a pretty cool feature!
How are you finding the results from your rugman site? I’ve had my (movie posters) online for a week or 2 so nothing is happening yet.
Cheers. Jeff

Sure Scott,
It does help you setup websites within minutes.
Data feed is a form of data which contains information about a merchant’s products in raw form. It’s not easy to form this raw data to a post without a script. With this script, we are integrating our affiliate id into their data feed so we get a portion of sales generated through our websites.
Another great benefit is that the content for your website is provided automatically. Rugman.com’s datafeed has similar descriptions for every product, but other merchants have unique descriptions for each of their product.
So to speak, free content plus commissions. I think this is a perfect combination.

Hi Bo,
This looks like a good deal then if it can help get a niche site up and running quickly.
One more question though. What are “data feeds”? Is that the same as RSS feeds? I’ve been a CJ and CB member for a while now and have not heard of data feed or how to use it.
Thanks,
Scott

No, it does not work with CJ. But I can ask her about it.
Also, if any of you need help with setups, please contact me directly. I will help you with the installation.

Scott,
Like I said above, it’s in its basic format. Other merchants have unique product descriptions. You can also add articles and other stuff to the site. You just need to be creative. For promoting, I do exactly same with other site.
No it does not violate adsense TOS. Other merchant sites must be violating their TOS if it’s true. Look of your site is your choice. One that you are looking at is my own design :)
Let me know if you have more questions

Hi Bo,
I’m curious if you would promote this kind of site in the same way as you do your content sites(sump pump, etc.)? I mean it appears to have no content, it’s only for sales. Would you be using SEO techniques or adwords to get traffic?
Also, deos this not violate adsense TOS by being on a page with only sales links and no content?
As for the script, does it have a place to enter your meta tag info, keywords etc. or do you have to edit the html manually?
Also is it possible to change the look/design of each site you make or will they all look like your rug site?
Thanks,
Scott

Hi Bo,
Do you know if you can use this with linkshare or CJ’s datafeed?

Bo, do you have similar script that we can get data feed from Clickbank or CJ?
